Serena Gordon has been racing professionally for more than a decade. Specializing in gravel and mountain bike racing, she is a great descender and understands the importance of the details when it comes to off-road performance. Serena has twice finished 2nd at the Oregon Trail Gravel Grinder, taking two stage wins in 2021, and was among the top female pros at FireCracker 50 and Leadville 100 in 2021. She even took the overall win (beating all the men) at this year’s Ochoco Roubaix. She has been on the podium at Rebecca’s Private Idaho Queen Stage Race, Lost & Found Gravel, The Rad Dirt Fest, Carson City Off-Road, Marathon Mountain Bike Nationals, and countless other events.

Serena lives in Bend with her husband, Ben, and medium-sized pup, Piper, and loves her morning coffee almost as much as she loves riding her bike. She is stoked to share what she knows with others and elevate women in the sport of gravel racing!

After retiring, Janel kept her wheels firmly planted in cycling and started her business, Janel Cycling, which focuses on cycling camps and coaching athletes of all levels. Janel took retirement from the road as an opportunity to spend more time having fun off-road and scooped up 3rd place at Dirty Kanza 200 (now Unbound Gravel) and won Crusher in the Tushar in the process. Working closely with Liv and Giant, as well as organizations such as the Michael P. Nosco Foundation and COTA, Janel hopes to help more people fall in love with bikes. Janel's recent relocation to Bend, Oregon means more time on gravel and dirt aboard her Liv Devote & Pique 29!

Special Blend Gravel Camp Yuri Hauswald picture

Yuri Hauswald grew up on a farm in rural Petaluma, CA without a tv, which meant he spent plenty of time outdoors roaming the hills looking for adventure when he wasn’t doing his ranch chores. After a successful collegiate career playing lacrosse for UC Berkeley, and armed with a degree in American Literature, Yuri discovered the joys of mountain biking while teaching English at a prep school in Pennsylvania, and hasn’t looked back since. A former two-time solo winner of the 24-Hours of Adrenaline and 9th place finisher at the 2006 24-Hour World Championships, Yuri’s crisscrossed the country seeking out his next two-wheeled trip. He turned pro at the tender age of 36, won the 2015 Unbound when he was 44, and is currently obsessed with everything gravel.
