16-Week Trail Ultra Base Builder Plan - Running

$210.00

This is an off-season base plan that prepares you to start race-specific training for an early-season 30-50K trail running race. Over 16 weeks you'll build aerobic endurance, get comfortable with longer time on your feet, and learn the different training intensities you'll use in race prep: strides, hill sprints, fartlek, steady state, tempo, threshold, and uphill repeats. The plan uses time and effort (RPE) instead of pace, so it works on any terrain, at any fitness level, and on the treadmill when needed.

The plan is ideal for beginner to intermediate trail runners who:
- Can run at least 30 minutes continuously
- Are comfortable with about 15 miles (2.5–3 hours) per week
- Have been running trails without much structure, or irregularly
- Are planning an early-season 30–50K and want a solid foundation before race training begins
- Have up to 6 hours available to train each week

Where you'll finish
By the end of the plan you should be able to:
- Run 90 minutes at an easy effort and feel like you could keep going
- Handle back-to-back weekend runs
- Train 5–7 hours per week consistently

RPE-based training plan, delivered via TrainingPeaks calendar

What you’ll need:

  • A TrainingPeaks account

  • A willingness to be flexible, fuel your work and recovery, and adjust for travel, holidays, and life
